What is CBD?
CBD (cannabidiol) is a major phytocannabinoid in hemp (Cannabis sativa L). In the last 20 years, hemp has been specifically bred to have high CBD and low THC levels. Current federal regulations classify hemp as less than 0.3% THC. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the intoxicating component of cannabis. We’re happy to see how many mainstream physicians and healthcare providers are now noticing what these ancient plant products can provide, and we urge you to mention CBD to your doctors and share any stories you may have. Merrymeeting Bay Hemp Company cannot give medical advice nor suggest that its products “prevent, treat or cure” any specific disease or condition. Still, we would gladly answer your questions and try to point you in the right direction regarding our products.
How much should I take?
Merrymeeting Bay Hemp Company cannot legally prescribe dosage amounts of CBD for specific conditions.
Dosage serving sizes can vary widely from person to person. Please consult your health care provider before starting any program if you have questions.
What is the endocannabinoid system?
Our bodies produce endogenous cannabinoids. These endocannabinoids have their own network of receptors known as the Endocannabinoid System. The two primary receptors in this system are known as CB1 and CB2, and when activated, they are responsible for many body and brain processes, primarily related to maintaining homeostasis.
Do your products contain THC?
Yes, our products contain a minimal amount THC because they are made with Whole Plant Full Spectrum Hemp oil extract.
Full Spectrum extract contains all of the phytocannabinoids and phytonutrients of the hemp plant which contribute to the entourage effect- all of the plant compounds working together synergistically.
The amount of THC in our products does not exceed the federally mandated levels of 0.3%.
This means that all of our products are 100% legal under federal law.
Please refer to individual product test results
What about drug testing after using our products?
A full spectrum, hemp-derived CBD product legally contains less than 0.3%THC. However, even with this small amount, it may be detected on a drug test.
If you’re worried about this, we recommend discussing it with your employer before you begin using our products.
Do your products contain heavy metals?
We test all of our extracts for heavy metals. Third party licensed laboratories conduct these tests.
Please see individual product test results
Is it legal in my state?
Each state has laws concerning hemp and CBD, which are continually changing.
Please check with your state government to be sure you and the CBD products you purchase are in compliance.
What is the grapefruit warning?
If the pharmaceutical drugs you are taking have a “grapefruit warning,” then it is best to assume this warning will also apply to CBD. Both CBD and grapefruit contain compounds that may disrupt the body’s way of metabolizing medication.
CBD may interact with certain medications and other drugs metabolized by the liver enzymes CYP3A4 and CYP2C19.
We recommend checking with your doctor if you are taking prescribed drugs to see if this will be a concern.
